In less than six months, the 2004 election will be over. How
will you feel about the results? Will you wish you could have
done more to affect the outcome?
Florida Consumer Action Network (FCAN) and our FCAN Foundation
(FCANF) have a place for you in a coordinated, organized effort
to:
- Register new voters
- Educate voters, and
- Get out the vote
We'll give you the best training available anywhere, training
you can use now and in years to come to help you win on whatever
work you do, political or otherwise, in a campaign, in your community,
or towards achieving the goals you & your organization want
to work on.
Maybe you've already found a volunteer role with another group.
If you haven't, maybe you'd like to work with a progressive Florida
group that's been here for 20 years, a Florida group that will
be here long after the election. That group is FCAN.
Right now our staff is registering tens of thousands of new voters
in Tallahassee, Tampa Bay, Orlando and Jacksonville. And you can
help! But registering voters is only part of the job. New voters
don't usually get the connection between politics and the quality
of their life. To motivate them to vote, this summer & fall
we'll be informing these folks how the issues really do affect
their families. And we'll help make sure they get out to the polls.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: If you want to do more this year than just
cast your own vote, FCAN offers a variety of ways to help affect
this year's outcome. You may only have as little as one hour between
now & November, or perhaps you have more time. You may not
have much time yourself, but you may know someone who does. Perhaps
you're a member of a church or group whose members could put together
a good effort.
Regardless, FCAN has a role for you this year in an organized,
productive campaign to help do what FCAN has always done the past
20 years: explain today's issues to other Floridians to motivate
them to do one simple thing that will make a real difference:
vote!
Whatever your contribution might be, even one hour, I assure
you it will be time well spent.
Please reply so that you can get your volunteer spot in FCAN
& FCANF's work to make a difference this year!
