The Issues

Military Spending

As your Congressman, I'll pay attention to what I hear from Noncoms in uniform - not the brass hats in the Pentagon.

Top military officers are out of touch with our young men and women in the field. The Pentagon is fighting the War on Terror with a Cold War mentality - that is, sinking too much of the Federal Budget into high tech gadgetry when it should be listening to the noncoms regarding what we really need to win the War on Terror.

The Pentagon continues to throw away billions of dollars of the taxpayers' money.

Here's my plan. To keep our Armed Forces at peak strength, our men and women in uniform should get better pay, better housing, better training, and better health care for themselves and their families.

And while I'm on the subject, the officers who lead our men and women into combat in the 21st Century need better training. They have to get rid of the Cold War mentality that continues to permeate at the top levels of our Officers' Corps.
